Yes! You can get started and practice kanji for free. Kanji Koi+ is an optional upgrade for extras such as an ad-free experience, additional themes, and syncing your progress across devices.
Absolutely. Start with the introductory practice, learn your first characters, and work through the beginner-friendly N5 lists at your own pace. Readings, meanings, and guided strokes help you make each new connection.
Kanji Koi includes study lists for estimated JLPT levels N5 through N1, plus Jōyō kanji organized by school grade. You can also make your own lists to focus on the characters that matter to you.
Swipe mode helps you practice recognizing characters, their meanings, and readings. Drawing mode lets you practice writing each character with stroke guidance. Use both to build a more complete understanding.
